2025 Spring Concert Tour
Sometimes, we may feel as if we walk alone. Perhaps it’s at the loss of a family member or when we stand up for what is right, but unpopular. At such times, the sense of solitude can lay heavy on our hearts.
The good news is God’s children never truly walk alone. Carrying the cross of our sins on His back, Jesus walked the loneliest path to that awful hill at Calvary. He knows our dark and lonesome roads, too.
Composer Elaine Hagenberg’s You Do Not Walk Alone − a student favorite − reminds us of God’s light when we find ourselves on one of life’s dark roads.
May you see God’s light on the path ahead, when the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear, even in your hour of sorrow, the gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard, may hardness never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember when the shadows fall, you do not walk alone.
You Do Not Walk Alone | Traditional Irish Blessing | arr. Elaine Hagenberg (b. 1979)
The Wisconsin Lutheran Choir will perform You Do Not Walk Alone on tour through the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic in March 2025. The song’s message of hope will encourage audience members just as it does the students. Sharing the truth of God’s Word in song is why the choir goes on tour. Each concert presents an opportunity to move hearts with the message of the Gospel through the transcendent beauty of music, one of God’s most precious gifts.
As an ensemble of Christian men and women, choir members, too, are deeply impacted by the message we share and by the family-like bond as they work side by side. Such blessings are fully appreciated on tour as students rely on one another to meet the demands of a busy schedule and concert readiness. Moreover, choir members forge new and lasting friendships through shared experiences during performances and on the road. Through all of this, God affirms that we do not walk alone.
“Tours allow us to share the Word of God with our audiences through powerful, emotional pieces while creating lifelong memories that I and every single member of this choir will treasure forever.” – Collin Cerny ’25
Heavy hearts long to know the friendship of our Savior Jesus. We know that God is at work through the choir’s touring ministry. However, it is only with your support that the choir may sustain this Gospel-driven musical opportunity. Your gift will allow choir members share Christ throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic this spring. As a donor, you are a part of the choir’s longstanding legacy of touring and Christian musicianship. Thank you for your partnership and support.
