There will be two Honors Jazz groups representing the best players from participating high school jazz ensembles. These group will perform at Saturday’s Festival Concert. The Honors Jazz Ensemble will be directed by Prof. Hubert and the Honors Jazz Combo will be directed by Dr. Zima. What an opportunity for your top high school jazz musicians! We are sure it will be an experience they will cherish for years to come.
*NOTE: The Honors Jazz Band and Honors Jazz Combo will rehearse on Friday evening, January 19 for several hours. The group will also rehearse during the day on Saturday, January 20 during the High School Jazz Festival and then perform that evening. When nominating your students to participate in the Honors Jazz ensembles, please be sure that your nominees are committed to full participation in all of the rehearsals and performance on both Friday evening, January 19, and on Saturday, January 20. Directors will be notified around December 1 which students have been chosen from their school to be a member of the Honors Jazz Band and/or Honors Jazz Combo.
